Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability with inexpensive and simple configuration by providing a variable impedance element whose impedance is lowered when an output voltage of an operational amplifier exceeds a reference voltage. CONSTITUTION:A series branch comprising a variable impedance element 14 and a lower limit resistor R3 is connected in parallel with a feedback resistor R2 forming an inverse amplifier circuit together with the operational amplifier 10. A reference voltage generating circuit 15 outputs a reference voltage Vr to a connecting point P2 and when an output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier 10 exceeds the reference voltage Vr, the emitter potential of the TR Q1 forming the variable impedance element 14 is higher than the reference voltage fed to the base and the collector current is increased nearly proportional to the output voltage Vo, the closed loop gain of the operational amplifier 10 is reduced and the output voltage Vo is limited to the reference voltage Vr. Thus, the defect of the operational amplifier 10 due to a large current flowing is eliminated and the reliability is improved.
