Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness of a galvanized layer and to provide the titled steel tube with excellent bending resistance without impairing the corrosion resistance by subjecting the starting tube to a blasting treatment into the specific surface roughness and thereafter subjecting it to a pickling treatment and hot-dipping galvanizing. CONSTITUTION:The starting tube is subjected to a shot blasting treatment into 20-80mum surface rughness, is degreased at need and is subjected to a pickling treatment for about 10-30min. Said tube is successively subjected to a flux treatment by the double salt of ZnCl2 and NH4Cl2, etc. The tube is thereafter subjected to ordinary hot-dipping galvanizing. By this method, the titled steel tube having sufficient corrosion resistance and showing excellent bending resistance can be obtd.
