Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the workability, oxidation resistance and high temp. corrosion resistance of the titled alloy and the adhesion of an Al2O3 film thereof by regulating the limiting compositional values of C, Cr, Al, B, etc. CONSTITUTION:The alloy having the compsn. contg., by weight, <=0.05% C, 15.0-25.0% Cr, 3.0-10.0% Al, 0.003-0.5% Rem, 0.01-3.0% B and the balance consisting substantially of Fe is prepd. If required, one or more kinds between 0.01-5% Co and Ni are furthermore added to said compsn. By such constitution, said alloy has excellent workability shown in the number of repeated bending, etc., has excellent oxidation resistance and further has good adhesion of an Al2O3 film produced on the surface of the alloy. Said alloy is therefore suitable as the honeycomb material, high temp. heating element, resisting material of a convertor for exhaust gas of an automobile, etc.
