Abstract

PURPOSE:To exhibit sufficient performance with low cost by providing hydraulic control mechanisms at front and rear wheel sides in first system and providing a pressure regulation mechanism for interlocking the hydraulic pressure at rear wheel side with second system. CONSTITUTION:In a cross piping brake system, hydraulic control mechanisms. i.e., three-position valves 7, 8, are arranged at a front right wheel 1a side and a rear left wheel 1d side in a hydraulic system 2a. A pressure regulation mechanism, i.e. a modulator 11, is provided in order to interlock the hydraulic pressure at the rear left wheel 1d side with a hydraulic system 2b. Consequently, the front right wheel 1a in the hydraulic system 2a is controlled independently so as to carry out interlocked control of three other wheels 1b-1d, thus ensuring maneuverability during brake operation through at least the front wheel 1a in the hydraulic system 2a. When interlocked control of three other wheels 1b-1d is carried out, control is carried out based on vehicle speed sensors 20c, 20d for the rear wheels 1c, 1d, and thereby sufficient brake function of the rear wheels 1a, 1d can be achieved even on a low (mu) pavement.
