CONSTITUTION:When a recording medium PP is set, a guide member 350 is set to an opposite position to a platen 401, and under this state, the recording medium PP is transported in a direction f. Then the tip of the recording medium PP is held between a main roller 331A and an energization roller 331B of a lower transport roller 331, and is guided over the platen 401 while a transport path is controlled. After this, said tip of the lower transport roller is held between a main roller 341A and an energization roller 341B of an upper transport roller 341. When the recording medium PP is set, a guide drive motor 382 is driven to set the guide member 350 to a parking position via a worm gear 386.
