Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve high-speed operation of line by means of an automatic decelerating apparatus which is capable of stopping the line to a required position directly by way of rapid deceleration, with no need of passing through creeping operation of the line.
CONSTITUTION: Output from line-speed instruction generating means DSA10, having a speed pattern as shown in the drawing, is afforded to motor 1 via automatic speed regulator 2 to drive the motor 1 such that line speed is controlled to follow said speed pattern. In order to accomplish such control, material feed length lm is detected by length measuring counter 5 from the output of pulse pickup PG3 that is afforded via gate 5a, and residual length (ls-lm) is then calculated through comparison of lm with standard length ls. Thereafter, the residual length is compared with signal V2/2α, where V is the standard value of speed and α is the gradient of deceleration. The speed instruction is corrected by adding the value of (ls-lm)- V2/2α to the deceleration speed instruction V and carrying out a control such that the residual length ls-lm is always equal to the length V2/2α required for stopping the line.
