Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a short-circuit current flowing through an output transistor (TR) pair in a voltage conversion circuit by applying turning-on an output TR at the power supply point of a 2nd voltage forcibly in a couple of output TRs in the voltage conversion circuit by means of a detection signal representing the absence of the 1st voltage from a voltage detection circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a 1st voltage Vd1 is absent or missing due to any cause, both TRs 315, 312 in the voltage detection circuit 300 are turned off and a potential lower by a gate drive voltage Vg formed by a Zener diode 311 from a 2nd voltage Vd2 is outputted from the voltage detection circuit 300 as a detection signal DS. Thus, a TR 140 in the voltage conversion circuit 100 receiving the signal at its gate is turned on immediately to open forcibly the output TR 101 at the power supply point. Thus, no short-circuit current is generated in the voltage conversion circuit 100 and a potential at a reference potential point is outputted as an output signal of the voltage conversion circuit 100, then the possibility of malfunction of a load receiving the signal is precluded.
