Abstract
PURPOSE:To make an electrode body smaller in size and increase the extent of cell capacity as well as to strengthen the fixation of a separator by installing a loading part in the separator on an outmost circumference of the electrode body, and depositing the loading parts themselves by thermal deposition. CONSTITUTION:An intermittent specified position of a separator 1 is pressurized and clamped, forming a loading part 2. The separator 1 is cut into uniform length, while it is combined with an electrode plate and wound into spiral form. And, active material surface at the side not opposed to a cathode plate of an anode plate 5 to be situated in an outermost circumference is covered with an extension part of the separator 1. A free end of this extension part and a base end neighboring part of the extension part overlapped with this free end are set down to the loading part 2 whereby thickness of the separator 1 in this portion is reduced. And, the loading parts 2 themselves are thermally deposited and the free end is fixed. With this constitution, volume of the separator is reduced and cell capacity is increased instead, thus fixation of the separator is strengthened.
