Abstract

PURPOSE:To regulate electrode extension with high accuracy by turning a nut member of a torch main body tail end and moving forward an electrode to insert into an electrode holder of the torch main body tip inside against a check means. CONSTITUTION:When the nut member 8 is turned, a push rod 10 advances or retreats via a screw member 9. The push rod 10 abuts on the electrode 6 by its advance and the electrode 6 moves forward against the checking force by a steel ball 5c. By this method, the electrode 6 extension (l) can be accurately regulated only by turning the nut member 8. Moreover, even if the screw member 9 moves to the advance end position and cannot press out the electrode 6 further that, the screw member 9 is returned to the retreat end position and the push rod 10 is changed to a longer one, by which the electrode 6 can be further pressed out.
