Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a coil end part with a good accuracy for performing winding by bending a wire from a first core slot to a second core slot and shaping said wire angularly. CONSTITUTION:An end-former 13 is caused to advance to engage an engaging part 21 with a wire 15 and to rotate said part 21 at a given angle integrally with a rotor unit. Then, a nozzle 16 is moved to a commutator 4 side to engage a wire 15 with the side angular part of an engaging projected part and to bend and angularly shape said wire to form a coil end part. After that, the endformer 13 is caused to retreat and a blade not shown in the drawing is caused to advance to bias and move said wire 15 to insert the wire 15 into a core slot 17. Thus, a coil end part is formed in one axial side part of a core 3, but said coil end part can be formed also on the commutator 4 side of said core 3 if the same process is conducted, so that the winding operation of an armature is performed with a good accuracy by repetition of said process.
