Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled immobilizing carrier having excellent utilization efficiency and handling workability and effective in improving the growth of plant, by forming a porous powdery inorganic material and a biochemically degradable organic binder component in the form of a sheet or a steric structure. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. of a porous powdery inorganic material (preferably having an average pore diameter of 0.001-300mum as determined by mercury- pressing method) is compounded with (B) 1-100pts.wt. of a biochemically degradable organic binder component (e.g. wood pulp) and the mixture is formed in the form of a sheet or a steric structure by a wet paper-making process or the like. The objective carrier produced by the above process can be completely disintegrated by cultivation after achieving the purpose to restore the natural state and can keep and improve the suitable environment of e.g. the growth of crops.
