Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce the titled steel plate having high weldability and high welded joint capacity by rolling the steel having specific compsn. at Ar1-Ar3 point and thereafter subjecting it to accelerated cooling to the specific temp. or below at the time of hot rolling said steel. CONSTITUTION:The steel consisting of, by weight, 0.06-0.15% C, 0.05-0.30% Si, 1.0-1.6% Mn, 0.10-0.50% Cr, 0.005-0.030% Nb, 0.005-0.030% Ti, 0.0002-0.0020% B, 0.001-0.040% Al and the balance Fe is hot rolled. At this time, the rolling is finished at Ar1-Ar3 point and the steel is immediately subjected to the accelerated cooling at <=400 deg.C. By this method, ferrite+bainite structure is formed to obtain low yield ratio, and at this time, the compsn. of the steel is simultaneously regulated to ensure the weldability thereof. The 60kg class steel plate having low yield ratio and having excellent weldability and welded joint capacity (as well as having >=58kgf/mm<2> tensile strength) can be thereby produced as non-heat treated.
