Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a composite structure type cold-rolled sheet steel having superior strength-ductility balance and a low yield ratio by hot rolling a steel consisting essentially of C, Mn, Si at specific temp. and cumulative draft and cold rolling, continuously annealing the same in a two phase area. CONSTITUTION:The steel consisting essentially of 0.01-0.18% C, 0.8-2.2% Mn and <=1.0% Si and the balance consisting of iron and unavoidable impurities is prepd. This steel is hot-rolled at below 950 deg.C, and >=50% cumulative draft to apply strong working to the austenite before transformation. Thence, it is cold- rolled, after which it is subjected to continuous annealing in a two phase area of ferrite phase and austenite phase. By this method, the cold-rolled sheet steel of low yield ratio, high ductility and high strength suitable for severe forming applications is obtained.
