Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure predetermined fuel injection quantity at all times by leaking pressure in an accumulation chamber upon elapse of predetermined interval after start of fuel injection and lowering the pressure in the accumulation chamber below closing pressure of a needle valve. CONSTITUTION:When pressure fuel feed interval for an accumulation chamber 5 through a fuel pump finishes and a predetermined interval elapses after start of injection of fuel through an injection port 11 into a combustion chamber, pressure in the accumulation chamber 5 is leaked to lower the pressure in the accumulation chamber 5 below closing pressure of a needle valve 3. Consequently, initial injection rate can be increased even if the temperature of engine at the end of compression stroke increases and the time interval between fuel injection and firing is shortened considerably, and since function for leaking pressure in the accumulation chamber 5 is provided, predetermined quantity of fuel can be injected into the combustion chamber of engine in short time, resulting in improvement of engine performance.
