Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce matching manpower necessary for modifying specification of a control valve by storing optimal control quantity of an auxiliary air flow control valve for every operating condition of engine and finally converting the optimal control quantity into a drive signal for the control valve. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary air flow control valve A is arranged in an auxiliary intake path which bypasses a throttle valve arranged in an intake path of an internal combustion engine. Optimal control quantity for the control valve A is stored through a means B. Furthermore, engine operating condition is detected through a means C and employed for retrieving the optimal control quantity stored through the means B. Then final control quantity is set through a means E based on the optimal control quantity retrieved through means D. A drive signal is set through means F based on the final control quantity set through the means E, and the control valve A is controlled through means G based on a drive signal set through the means F.
