Abstract

PURPOSE: To control fuel injection in a required manner, by providing an auxiliary intake port in the intake port formed in cylinder head and also providing a control valve operated in response to the engine speed in a conduit connected between said auxiliary intake port and its air cleaner.
CONSTITUTION: In the course of suction stroke, air is introduced from intake- port swirl chamber 5 into cylinder 13 via intake valve 52, air cleaner 1, conduit 2, manifold 3 and intake port 4. At the same time, air is also supplied from auxiliary air cleaner 101 and carried through pipe 201 having a control valve 300, auxiliary intake manifold 301, auxiliary intake port 401. Then, the auxiliary air is directed from intake-port swirl chamber 5 toward the central portion at the top of intake valve 52 and introduced into cylinder 13. When the negative pressure in intake manifold 3 is increased, control valve 300 is controlled by a detecting means to reduce its opening. Therefore, it is enabled to reduce the amount of air supplied from auxiliary intake port 401 into cylinder 13 at the time of high-speed operation of engine.
