Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively decrease BOD and COD concentration in drainage by concentrating and separating low boiling point components in the original liquid, with a rectifying column newly added and using exhaust gases and cooling water from an engine as a source of heat. CONSTITUTION:An original liquid 101 which has been heat exchanged with the cooled water 111 emitted from an engine 2 by a heat exchanger 7 and preheated is introduced into a rectifying column 11 before supplying the same to a concentration column 1. In this rectifying column 11, the low boiling point components in the original liquid are concentrated and separated on the side of vapor 113 by repeating distillation several times making use of a discharged cooling water 110 from the engine 2 by a heat exchanger 10 as a source of heat and of vapor differences between water and the low boiling point components. This results in decreasing the BOD and COD concentration in vapor separated liquid (drain) in the concentration column 1.
