Abstract
PURPOSE:To lengthen the span of life and reduce noise, by setting a friction means to be a composition including organic material, and by forming the composition with a layer that the coefficient of thermal expansion in one direction along the frictional contact surface does not exceed a specified value. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave motor is provided with an oscillating section and a moving section, and so far as the oscillating section is concerned, on the surface of a piezoelectric unit 1, an oscillating unit 2 is bonded and fixed, and so far as the moving section is concerned, on the surface of a moving unit 5 as a power transmitting main-unit confronted with said oscillating unit 2, the frictional material layer of a frictional contact section 4 is bonded and fixed, to compose the motor. In this case, the frictional contact section 4 is made of a composition including one sort of more of organic material, and is formed by using frictional material that the coefficient of thermal expansion in one direction at least along the contact surface does not exceed 20X10<-6>. Then, the surface of the frictional contact section 4 and the surface of the oscillating unit 2 are permitted to come in pressure contact with each other by a proper means. As a result, thermal deformation is effectively suppressed, and the lowering of the rotational frequency of the motor can be suppressed.
