Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent deflection of a cat walk due to the weight of a spanning cable by a method wherein the two ends of a cat walk rope are connected to respective towers through a tension regulating device. CONSTITUTION: The two ends of a cat walk 19 are fixed at respective support beams 23, and center hole jacks 22 are mounted thereon. The tension rod 22 is inserted in the center hole jack 22 and the other end of the rod 22 is rotatably mounted on a tower 7. When spanning, in order, with strand wires 3 is effected by a strand guiding device 10, the cat walk 15 is about to deflect due to the weight of a strand wire 3 with which spanning is effected. However, by moving a support beam 23 to the tower 7 side by operating the center hole jack 22, a deflection amount of the cat walk 15 is decreased.
