Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce corner cracking on surface of a cast slab by arranging discharging hole of a submerged nozzle toward narrow side in a mold and making collision of the discharging flow from the nozzle with molten steel stream to vertical direction generating through an electromagnetic stirring. CONSTITUTION:The submerged nozzle 2A in a tundish is arranged at center part of the wide face 3C in the mold 3A and the discharging hole 13A is arranged toward the narrow face 3B direction in the mold 3A. Electromagnetic stirring device 4A is arranged to each back of the wide face 30 in the mold 3A. The discharging flow of the molten steel from the discharging hole 13A of the nozzle 2A collides and interfers with the molten steel stream to vertical direction in the mold 3A generating by the electromagnetic stirring device 4A. By this method, as rising of meniscus near the narrow face 3B of the mold 3A is prevented, the corner cracking on the surface of the cast slab is surely prevented.
