Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a pharmaceutical capable of suppressing decomposition of esters or amides by enzymes in digestive tracts and remarkably improving bioavailability, by suspending or dissolving the esters or amides in glycerides of medium-chain fatty acids. CONSTITUTION:A pharmaceutical, obtained by suspending or dissolving esters or amides in glycerides of a 4-10C fatty acid (especially preferably mono-, di- or tri-caprylic acid glyceryl ether or a mixture thereof) and filling the resultant suspension or solution in capsules preferably coated with an enteric coating agent (e.g. carboxymethyl ethyl cellulose) and useful for treating acute pancreatitis, pulmonary emphysema, etc. Benzoic acid esters (especially preferably a compound expressed by the formula) and esters of the thromboxane analogous compounds are preferred as the esters and amides of prostaglandins, benzoic acid and thromboxane analogous compounds, etc., are preferred as the amides.
