Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title emulsion which provides a porous sheet material which has a fine porous structure and is excellent in surface smoothness, contamination resistance, feeling and vapor permeability and useful as the material for synthetic leather etc., by emulsifying water in a soln. of a specified polyurethane resin in an org. solvent. CONSTITUTION:A polyurethane resin A contg. fluorocarbon segments in the main chain and/or side chain and having an MW of 20 thousand to 500 thousand is obtd. by reacting a polyol, a polyisocyanate and a fluorocarbon compd. (e.g., compd. of formulas I-IV) contg. a reactive org. functional group, such as NH2, OH, COOH or SH groups, as a whole or part of a chain extender. The component A is dissolved or dispersed, in such an amt. that concn. of its solid matter is 5-60wt.%, in an org. solvent B such as methyl ethyl ketone, xylene, etc. To this org. solvent soln. is added water to a saturation or in a lower amt., by 50-500pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. solid matter in the soln., and the mixture is vigorously stirred to give the title emulsion.
