Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the current consumption of a double balanced mixer constant and to realize a wide band by connecting two passive elements with impedance smaller than the impedance from one of a couple of gate electrodes of the double balanced mixer to the other gate electrode in series, and supplying a bias voltage to the gate electrodes from the connection point.
CONSTITUTION: A local oscillation signal which is inputted from a terminal 1 is converted by an unbalance-balance converter 2 into a balance signal, which is supplied to the gate electrodes of FETs 8∼11 constituting the double balanced mixer. Then a high frequency signal enters an unbalance-balance converter 12 from a terminal 13 and is converted into a balance signal, which is supplied to the source electrodes of the EFTs 8∼11. The double balanced mixer mixes the local oscillation signal with the high frequency signal to generate an intermediate frequency signal at the drain electrodes of the FETs 8∼11 and the signal is converted by the balance-unbalance converter 14 into an unbalance signal, which appears at a terminal 18. Consequently, the local oscillation signal is made constant in amplitude in an oscillation band by resistances 5 and 6 and the current consumption becomes constant, so that the wide band is obtained.
