Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve both the wear resistance and lubricity of a sliding member by dispersing hard fine particles and fine particles having self-lubricity in a Cu or Co plating layer as a matrix. CONSTITUTION:This sliding member is formed by dispersing prescribed two kinds of fine particles in a Cu or Co plating layer as a matrix. The two kinds of fine particles are fine particles having self-lubricity and hard fine particles and are dispersed in the plating layer. The hard fine particles may be of alumina, other oxide ceramics, nitride or carbide ceramics. The fine particles having self-lubricity may be of molybdenum disulfide, hexagonal boron nitride or graphite.
