Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily and accurately collect the data of a local region, by erasing a lateral magnetized component after selective excitation due to a 90 deg.-pulse and subsequently exciting the local region by a non-selective 90 deg.-pulse to obtain the data of the local region. CONSTITUTION:A magnet assembly 1 is equipped with a static magnetic field coil 2 applying a main magnetic field of definite intensity to an examinee, a gradient coil 3 applying a gradient magnetic field, an exciting coil 4 and a detection coil 5. A data processing computer 11 is connected to a display apparatus 12 and a controller 13. The controller 13 controls the gradient magnetic field or the generation sequence of a high frequency pulse and excites a region grasping a zone containing a local region by a 90 deg.-pulse to erase the lateral magnetized component of said region. The data of the local region is collected by the detection coil 5 and transmitted to a phase detection circuit 20 through a preamplifier 19 and the analysis of a spectrum is performed in said circuit 20. Thereafter, an image is reconstituted by the computer 11.
