Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a good quality image by enhancing an S/N ratio, by applying weighting to an NMR signal with due regard to the characteristic unbalance generated between detection means detecting the NMR signal on two axes crossing each other at a right angle. CONSTITUTION:The NMR signal responding to an examinee 6 due to an electromagnetic wave is detected by the high frequency coil 20b arranged in close vicinity to the examinee 6 and inputted to an A/D converter 25 through an amplifier 23 and an orthogonal phase detector 24 to be converted to digital quantity which is, in turn, further converted to the sample data of two systems sampled in the timing due to the order from a sequencer 13 by the orthogonal phase detector 24 and the signal thereof is sent to a signal processing system 16. The signal processing system 16 consists of a CPU 11, a recording apparatus such as a magnetic disk 26, a magnetic tape 27 or the like and a display 28 such as a CRT and processing such as Fourier transform, the calculation of correction coefficient or the reconstitution of an image is performed by the CPU 11 and the signal intensity distribution of an arbitrary cross-section or the distribution obtained by applying proper operation to a plurality of signals is formed into an image to be displayed on a display 28.
