Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the paging operation by forming a holder into an L-shaped section, engagingly locking and holding a book thereby, and watching the book through a transparent part. CONSTITUTION: A holder 33 is formed of an L-shaped sectional plate formed of a long-handed surface 41 and a short-handed surface 42 mounted backward on the lower end part thereof, and its upper end part is supported by a strut 2. The spread surface 31 and bottom part 32 of a book 3 are brought into contact with the long-handed surface 41 and short-handed surface 42 of the holder 4, respectively, to hold the book 3 on the back surface side of the holder 4. This long-handed surface 41 is made transparent so that the spread surface 31 of the book 3 can be watched through it, whereby a lying person 5 can read the book with an obliquely up line of view P, and the book 3 is held by the holder 4 by the contact of the spread surface 31 with the long-handed surface 41 and the contact of the bottom part 32 with the short-handed surface 42 and never dropped. The paging operation of the book 3 can be performed by turning the hand from the side part of the long-handed surface 41 of the holder 4 to the back part holding the book 3, moving the book 3 from the long-handed surface 41 with the short-handed surface 42 as a fulcrum to turn a page by the fingers, and tilting the book 3 into contact with the long-handed surface 41 as it is.
