Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily adjust balance of an idling air flow quantity among respective cylinders by arranging an air flow passage bypassing a throttle valve in each branch pipe of an intake manifold and also a means for controlling air flow resistance in each air flow passage. CONSTITUTION:The collecting pipe 2 of an intake manifold for supplying air for fuel to a four-cylinder engine 1 is provided with four intake branch pipes 3 (3a-3d) assigned to respective cylinders and a throttle valve 6 is arranged in each branch pipe 3 to be opened and closed by an interlocking rod 7 via each throttle valve lever 14. Further, the collecting pipe 2 includes a connecting manifold 5 for supplying air for idling, and each branch pipe is connected to the downstream side from the throttle valve 6 of each intake branch pipe 3 and also its collecting pipe is connected to the collecting pipe 2 via a control valve 4. A bypassing passage 13 is arranged to each branch pipe 3 respectively, for connecting the upstream side to the downstream side of the throttle valve 6 and an orifice 10 is arranged on its way. Each orifice 10 is exchangeably structured in a screw type.
