Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the penetration of a deposited layer into a copper base by heating so that adhesion of sputters is decreased and durability is improved by immersing a copper contact tip into a fused salt consisting of borate and halide of vanadium and effecting an electrolysis with said tip as a cathode. CONSTITUTION:A treating bath is prepd. by putting borax into a graphite crucible, heating the borax to about 1,000 deg.C to melt the same, charging VCl3 into the molten borax and uniformly mixing the same. The contact tip formed of the copper or copper alloy is immersed into this treatment bath and the electrolysis is effected with the contact tip stock as the cathode and the container of the above-mentioned salt bath as an anode at <=1A/dm<2> cathode current density. The ceramics dispersed layer which does not penetrate again into the copper base is formed by this method, by which the adhesion of the spatters is prevented and the wear resistance and durability are improved.
