Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely and efficiently separate a high-temp. superconductor from the mixed powder by providing a means for vertically vibrating a stage set at a temp. where the high-temp. superconductor powder exhibits superconductivity and a magnetic field for forming a magnetic field gradient above the stage. CONSTITUTION:The mixed powder of the high-temp. superconductor powder 8 and impurities 9 is placed on the stage 1, and the stage 1 is set at the temp. where the high-temp. superconductor 8 to be separated exhibits superconductivity by a cooling source 6 and a heater 11. The stage 1 is vibrated by a vibration source 4 to vertically vibrate the powder. At this time, only the high-temp. superconductor powder 8 exhibiting superconductivity and a Meissner effect at the set temp. in the powder is collected toward the center part of the stage 1 by the magnetic field gradient caused by the magnet 2. As a result, the powder 8 exhibiting superconductivity at the set temp. can be efficiently separated from the impurities 9.
