Abstract

PURPOSE:To control an electric power stably with a low loss, by connecting a voltage limiting diode between a controlling transistor and the auxiliary winding of a saturable reactor. CONSTITUTION:In a switching regulator the ON/OFF control of a switching element 1 is effected by a control circuit 2 and a predetermined voltage from a transformer 4 is applied to a load 10 through a saturable reactor 5. An output voltage control circuit 11 has an error detector 12 to detect an output difference between a DC output voltage and a reference voltage 13. The detector controls the controlling transistor 14 connected with an auxiliary winding Na to regulate the amount of resetting of the flux of the saturable reactor 5 to stabilize the DC output voltage. In this case, a voltage limiting diode 19 is connected in parallel to a reverse voltage precluding diode 15 and the controlling transistor 14. According to this constitution, the resetting of the excitation of the saturable reactor 5 is effected under a condition that the voltage of the auxiliary winding Na is equal to the same of a control power source 16 during the OFF condition of the switching element 1.
