PURPOSE:To detect exact object approach by comparing signal levels of successive receiving signals mutually and providing a signal processing part which judges whether or not the object exists by means of conforming that a signal level difference exceeds a prescribed threshold. CONSTITUTION:In a processing part 6 of a detector an output signal a of a head amplification circuit 5 is guided to an analog switch 7, the signal corresponding to a nth pulse to a peak hold circuit 8 and the other signal corresponding to a n+1th pulse to the other peak hold circuit 9 by means of a timing pulse of a clock circuit 2. The output signals b, c of the peak hold circuit 8, 9 are transmitted to a differential amplification 11 and the absolute value of the difference is is output as an output signal d.
