Abstract

PURPOSE:To supply an abrupt pulse current necessary for a laser excitation and to reduce the size and weight of a device body by providing a radiation heat escape preventive member of the heat escaped outside from a sealing tube between the tube and an outer metal tube. CONSTITUTION:When a high voltage pulse is applied between a cathode terminal 14 and an anode terminal 15, a discharger 7 is discharged, and generated heat is transmitted through a heat insulator 9 to a sealing tube 5. The heat escape of thermal conduction of the radial escape of the heat is stopped by a vacuum unit 10, but the heat escape of radiation is prevented by disposing a high melting point metal 16 having small radiation rate on the surface of the tube 5. The heat is partly reflected on the surface of a radiation heat escape preventive metal plate 17 disposed in the unit 10 to largely reduce its heat loss from the tube 5. Since the plate 17 is electrically connected to an outer metal tube 13, the inductance of a discharging load is reduced to obtain an abruptly rising current due to the application of a high voltage pulse, the radius of the tube 5 can be decreased, and the size of the device can be diminished.
