When no ignition action is effected even after elapse of a specified time and the flame sensor 2 does not detect flame, a safety switch set coil 15 is energized, and a safety switch contact 16 is shut off. A burner blower control circuit 7 keeps a transistor 8 in an ON-state for a while to run a burner motor 3, and a post purge action is effected. The safety switch 16 has a latching function, and does not return unless energization of the safety switch reset coil 18 is effected by pressing a reset switch 17.
