Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve the reduction of adjusting time and the decrease of spoiled paper by quantitatively setting the amount of ink set based on experimental judgement, by a method wherein the areal ratio of black data is calculated by integrating the amount of black data in received picture signals. CONSTITUTION:The black data of a picture signal 10 to be inputted is integrated with an integrating circuit 1 and this integrated value is stored in a temporal storage memory 2. Then, the correction value of the integrated value set with auxiliary switches 3, 4 and the corrected values are input. The linear function conversion with this integrated value as a variable and the corrected value as a coefficient is executed by using a microprocessor 5 and the obtained result is outputted as a corrected result. This corrected result is printed with, for instance, a printer 8 and the ink delivery amount of a press is set by operation on the basis of this printed result. Therefore, because the ink amount traditionally set based on experimental judgement can be quantitatively set, the extreme reduction of adjusting time and the decrease of spoiled paper can be achieved.

As explained above, the present invention utilizes a means that receives an image signal transmitted through a facsimile line, integrates the amount of black data in this image signal, and calculates the area ratio of black data. Since the amount of ink that was previously set based on empirical judgment can be set quantitatively, the adjustment time can be significantly reduced and the amount of paper waste can be reduced. Additionally, if you change the paper quality or ink type, it is necessary to adjust the ink amount according to the paper quality or ink type, but since you can set the correction value that suits the paper quality and ink type in advance, you can adjust the ink amount accordingly. This has the effect that the settings can be carried out quantitatively and the adjustment time can be reduced.
