2. Description of the Related Art Recently, automatic mail processing systems have been developed in order to save labor in postal services. This system sequentially takes out and conveys the mail pieces set in the supply section one by one, reads the postal code assigned to the mail pieces, and then, based on the reading results, separates and collects boxes arranged in multiple stages in the vertical direction. A predetermined sorting accumulation box of a unit group is sorted and accumulated in the accumulation chamber of the unit. Then, an appropriate amount of mail is accumulated in the accumulation room,
When the forced ejection switch is pressed, the ejection mechanism of the sorting and collecting box unit operates to push out the group of mail in the collection chamber and finally place it on a common transport line, where it is assigned a destination card and bundled. This is what we are trying to do.

The original note supply mechanism 8 feeds one end of the roll paper A'', which is the original note material wound on a reel 10, to a predetermined length with a pair of feed rollers 11, and cuts it with a cutter 12 to produce the original note A of paper bills. ', and supplies this original document A' to the printing mechanism 7 by a pair of feed rollers 13.The ink tape supply mechanism 9 also supplies the ink tape 1 wound on the feed reel 14.
5 is wound around the take-up reel 16, and the middle part of the reel is stretched so as to cover the printing surface of the print head 5 and kept under constant tension by tension rollers 17, 17. The take-up reel 16 is moved by the feed roller pair 18 in synchronization with the printing operation.
By transferring the ink tape 15 to the side, a new part that is not in use always faces the heating elements of the printing head 5.

Thus, the original paper bill A' supplied to the printing mechanism 7 is transferred to the printing head 5 via the ink tape 15.
The ink tape 15 is fed at a constant speed along with the rotation of the pressure feeding roller 6, and a group of heating elements arranged in a direction perpendicular to this feeding direction selectively generates heat based on the print signal. Dot printing is then performed on the original note A'. Then, the paper bills A on which the predetermined printing has been completed are sent into the paper bill supply conveyance path 19 of the conveyance mechanism section 3.

Furthermore, when the transfer head 25 rises and returns to its normal position, the head upper position detector 27 detects this, and also detects paper bills A that have not been ejected from the paper bill holding box 24 by reflective detection. This is detected by a paper bill remaining detector 28 consisting of a container. When the transfer head 25 has not returned to its normal position or when the paper bills A remain in the paper bill holding box 24, a At the time when the paper bill delivery detector 29 detects that the paper bill A is sent out from the print issuing mechanism section 2, the conveyor belts 21 and 22 forming the paper bill supply conveyance path 19 stop running. It's becoming like that.

The operation of the paper bill transfer device 1 configured as described above will now be described. The paper bills A printed and issued by the printing and issuing unit 2 are sent to the transfer mechanism unit 4 side via the paper bill supply conveyance path 19. At this time, in the transfer mechanism section 4, the transfer head 25 is at the upper limit position, and the paper bill receiving opening 24a of the paper bill holding box 24 is located at the end of the paper bill supply and conveyance path 19. The paper bill A is received in the paper bill holding box 24, which is in a state facing the supply section 23.

In this way, the transfer head 25 is connected to the paper bill placement section.
When the device stops at a position keeping a predetermined distance from Ba, the tapping device 4 acts as a paper bill ejection mechanism 26.
5 and 45, the paper bills A are held in the paper bill holding box 24 with their side edges supported.
is hit with the beating sticks 59, 59, and the paper bills A are pressed in the surface direction and discharged from the paper bills discharge port 24b. At this time, the hitting sticks 59, 59 rotate in opposite directions and hit the paper bills A, so that the paper bills A are reliably ejected in a stable posture without shifting laterally, and moreover, the paper bills A are ejected in a stable position, and moreover, on the supported side. Since the paper bill A is struck near the edge, the paper bill A is not bent greatly and its posture at the time of release becomes more stable.

Next, when the discharge operation of the paper bills A is completed and the paper bills A are transferred to the paper bill placement section Ba, the articles B in the article conveyance path 31 are intermittently conveyed one pitch at a time, and the transfer head 25 is raised. Then, it returns to the position where paper bills A can be accepted, waits, and repeats the above operation.

In the unlikely event that the transfer head 25 has not returned to the position where paper bills A can be received by the time the next paper bill A is supplied from the printing and issuing unit 2 to the paper bill supply conveyance path 19, If paper bills A remain in the paper bill holding box 24, the conveyance operation of the paper bill supply conveyance path 19 is stopped, and the operator is notified to that effect.

As explained above, the present invention holds the paper bills received by the paper bill holding box by supporting the lower surface of the side edges thereof, and presses the paper bills in the surface direction. Since the paper bills are transferred to the paper bill placement section, which is the upper surface of the article, by being discharged from the discharge port, the paper bills can be reliably transferred without causing any displacement. In addition, the transfer head equipped with a paper bill holding box is lowered to a position where it maintains a predetermined distance from the paper bill placement section of the article, and the paper bills are discharged at this position. It is possible to reliably transfer articles even if the height of the tag placement part is not constant. Furthermore, at least two detectors for detecting the paper bill placement section are attached to the transfer head, and the transfer head is controlled to stop when all of these detectors detect the paper bill placement section. Therefore, when the paper bill placement section is tilted, the transfer head can be brought closer to the paper bill placement section compared to when the paper bill placement section is not tilted. For this reason, the falling distance of paper bills is shorter than when there is no inclination, and when paper bills are placed on the paper bill placement section, it is difficult for the paper bills to slip and become misaligned, making it more stable. This is particularly useful for items that tend to tilt, such as stacked mail. Additionally, since the detector is attached to the transfer head, it is possible to detect gaps and inclinations closer to the area where paper bills and other items are being transferred, resulting in more stable transfer conditions. play.
