In a copying machine, since the developer concentration in the developing device changes with the copying operation of the copying machine, copies with stable image quality cannot be obtained as is. Therefore, generally, a developer storage container containing replenishing developer is loaded into a copying machine, and the developer is replenished as appropriate to keep the developer concentration in the apparatus constant. However, in the case of a conventional developer storage container, when the developer storage container is loaded into the replenishment position of the developer storage container receiving section, the developer storage container tilts, and at that time, the developer is leaked from the replenishment port to the surrounding area. The developer could be spilled, and the developer storage container could not be quickly loaded when replenishing as required.

The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate such inconveniences when attaching the developer storage container to its receiving portion.
To provide a developer replenishing device which can prevent a developer storage container from tilting before reaching the correct replenishment position and safely and quickly correctly mount it at the replenishment position.

FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of a copying machine, and FIGS. 2 to 4 are views showing the state in which the developer replenishing device of the present invention is installed in a developing device. In FIG. 1, a photosensitive drum 1 has a surface insulating layer, a photoconductive layer, and a conductive layer, rotates clockwise, and performs a copying operation in the following cycle. The surface of the photosensitive drum is uniformly charged by a primary charger 2, and then a secondary charger 3
As a result, static electricity is removed simultaneously with the imagewise exposure 4, and an electrostatic latent image is formed. Further, if necessary, the entire surface is exposed using the lamp 5. Photosensitive drum 1 on which an electrostatic latent image is formed
is developed and visualized by the developing device 6. The developed photosensitive drum 1 reaches a transfer position and is transferred by a transfer charger 7 onto a transfer material P fed from a paper feed section 8. Then, the developer remaining on the photosensitive drum 1 is cleaned and removed by the cleaning blade 9, and the cycle moves on to the next cycle. A developer replenishment section is provided above the developing device 6, and a developer storage container is made detachable by a loading guide member.

2 to 4 and FIG. 5 show an embodiment in which the developer storage container 10 of the present invention can be attached to and detached from a developer replenishment section by means of a loading guide member 11. This developer storage container 10 includes a cylindrical developer storage section 12.
, a developer replenishment port 13 provided on the outer periphery of the cylindrical developer accommodating portion, and a sliding portion 14 capable of sliding into an open groove 15 provided protrudingly on the outer periphery of the cylindrical developer accommodating portion. have. The loading guide member 11 of the developer replenishment section has an open groove 15 that guides the developer storage container in the axial direction of the cylindrical developer storage section, and an open groove 15 that guides the developer storage container in the axial direction of the cylindrical developer storage section, and a groove that guides the developer storage container in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical developer storage section at the coaxial end. It has an opening part 16 that allows the developer storage container to rotate freely. The main body of the developing device is provided with a notch 17 corresponding to the opening 16, and inside the developing device there is an actuating rod 18 for pushing open the valve of the developer supply port 13 of the developer storage container, and this actuating rod. A solenoid 19 is provided.

When the developer storage container 10 is inserted into the groove 15 of the loading guide member 11 with the developer supply port 13 facing upward and pushed in the direction of arrow A, the sliding portion 14 moves along the groove 15. (The state indicated by the dotted line in FIG. 3) When this is further pushed to the state indicated by the two-dot chain line in FIG. When the developer storage container is rotated 180 degrees in the direction of arrow B in this position, the sliding part 14 hits the positioning plate 21 and stops with the developer supply port 13 facing down (second, third,
(Position of solid line in Figure 4). When taking out the developer storage container 10, the above operation is performed in reverse. That is, at the opening part 16 of the loading guide member 11, the developer storage container 1
0 can be removed by rotating it approximately 180 degrees in the direction of arrow C and then pulling it out along the opening groove 15 in the direction of arrow D.

As is clear from the above, the developer storage container 10
Since the developer replenishment port 13 faces downward only when it is installed or removed, the developer replenishment port 13 faces downward only when it corresponds to the developer replenishment position, so the developer does not leak out when it is inserted or removed, and the copying machine body, floor surface, etc. It doesn't get dirty.

FIG. 5 shows an example of loading the developer storage container. The loading guide member 22 of the developer storage container 10 has a helical opening groove 25 of the loading guide member 22 starting from the upper part 23 at the loading inlet and ending at the insertion end 24. Therefore, when the developer storage container 10 is inserted or removed, the supply port 13 is guided along the opening groove 25, so that the developer storage container rotates more than the predetermined rotation determined by the spiral. Never. This can prevent the developer from spilling out of the replenishment section before the replenishment port 13 reaches the replenishment section.

In the above explanation, an example was used in which the replenishment port is oriented vertically when the replenishment container is attached or removed.
As is clear from the embodiment (FIG. 5), the replenishment port may be inclined as long as the developer does not leak from the replenishment port or the developer attached to the replenishment port does not fall. In this case, the rotation angle is not limited to 180 degrees.

Furthermore, although the above explanation uses an example in which the loading guide member of the developer storage container is installed on the developing device, the above effect can be obtained even if the loading guide member is installed in the copying machine main body. . Further, the above-mentioned means are effective not only in wet development but also in dry development.

As described above, according to the present invention, the developer storage container does not inadvertently tilt when it is attached or removed, and the container can be stopped with the replenishment port facing downward.
The developer can be prevented from falling or leaking out of the developer storage container, and furthermore, the developer in the container can be replenished without leaving any residue. Furthermore, since the center of rotation when rotating the developer storage container is contained within the developer storage container (for example, the rotation center indicated by 0 in FIG. 4 is contained within the developer storage container 10), the rotational center required for rotation is It has the advantage of taking up less space. Therefore, it is a useful developer storage container for desktop copying machines and the like.
