Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate color changing operation and to reduce cost by providing a shutter which cuts off the circulation path in a developing container and is displaced between the peripheral part of a developing sleeve and a hopper part, and supplying toner of different color to the peripheral part of the developing sleeve while the circulation path is cut off by the shutter. CONSTITUTION:The shutter 20 is held at a nonoperation position shown by a solid line and an image is developed with a developer 8 of, for example, black in the hopper part 7. The when an image is developed in color other than black, color development is selected on a console panel with a switch and then the shutter 20 is displaced to a position shown by a chain line to cut off the circulation path of a developer returning from the hopper part to the hopper part through the periphery of the developing sleeve. In this state, the sleeve 5 is rotated to remove black toner in the developer circulating at the periphery of the developing sleeve and then a color toner supply screw 21 is rotated to start supplying a developer of color toner around the sleeve 5. Consequently, the arrangement and members in a black copying machine are diverted to take a color copy at low cost.

, B = - A common method for changing colors is to replace the developing unit. In this method, the normally used black developing unit is replaced with a dedicated developing unit for the color you want to copy, and after the color copying is completed, it is returned to its original state. In addition to the contamination of the inside of the machine and the operator, and the difficulty of operating the machine, there are disadvantages in that the means for displaying the color of the currently installed developing unit so that it can be seen from outside the machine is complicated. Furthermore, since the developing unit is taken out of the machine, dust may enter the developing unit, the developer may be biased, and the life of the developer may be shortened due to the grip of the sleeve's magnetic force or the sticking of magnetic materials such as wood.
, below, there are drawbacks such as image abnormalities and reduced reliability due to damage to the photoreceptor.

An improvement on the above points is that there is a lot of black along the photoconductor! Color 1! In addition, a copying machine was proposed in which multiple developing units were installed in advance, making it easy to use different copy colors by simply flipping a switch on the operation panel; Because it is necessary to install multiple units, the device becomes larger, which increases the amount of varnish, and the amount of power required).Conversely, the black developing unit, which is used the most, becomes smaller, making it easier to print black copies. The frequency of replacing and replenishing the developer toner increases, or the rumored problem of uneven density in images is more likely to occur.

If some of the developer is accumulated inside □ and you want to return to the developer color (black), develop the non-image area on the top of the photoreceptor drum 2 in a solid manner, as in the color change above. After collecting the color toner, open the shutter 20, rotate the sleeve 5 and paddle wheel 6, and replenish the black toner from the toner hopper 9 to reach the desired developer concentration. If the amount of developer is sufficiently high in hc for one dark color such as black, the first color toner will not be collected and the shutter 20 will be used immediately after the image is stopped. Even if a mixture of 6 is carried out, it does not support the cliff in practical terms. □As mentioned above, the color toner collected in the cleaning section is also
There is no harm in returning it to Tonani and reusing it□. By doing as above, it is possible to reduce toner consumption in a two-component developing device which consumes a considerable amount of toner.

The developing container includes a developing sleeve having a magnet on its surface or inside thereof, and a hopper portion provided with a means for storing a two-component developer consisting of toner and a carrier and supplying the developer to the developing sleeve. The developing sleeve holds and conveys the developer supplied by the developer supplying means, supplies toner to the latent image on the photoreceptor to perform development, and returns the developed developer to the hopper section for circulation. In the developing device of an electrophotographic copying machine, the circulation path inside the developer container is shut off, and the developer container is retracted from a position where the inside of the developer container is divided into two chambers, a peripheral area of the developing sleeve and a hopper area, and a hopper area. A movable shutter is provided between the developer and the developer at a position where the developer is allowed to circulate, and toner of a different color from the developer stored in the hopper is supplied to the surrounding area of the developing sleeve in a divided state by the shutter. A developing device characterized by being provided with a toner replenishing means.
