By sufficiently bringing J9 into contact with the metal bath 8, the smelting reaction at the interface is promoted. Moreover, the reaction of C+Fe0=Fe+CO is also performed in the slag layer 9. Therefore, it is important to devise ways to charge the ore raw material into the slag layer 9.

On the other hand, in the smelting reduction method, as mentioned above, unlike the conventional smelting reaction, the reaction mainly occurs at the interface between the molten metal and the slag, and the reaction requires a certain amount of heat. 。However, when fine ore is introduced from above the bath surface, a large proportion of the fine ore is consumed in the falling process, and the probability that the fine ore reaches the interface between the molten metal and the slag is low. for example,
It is accompanied by the exhaust gas rising in the furnace and cannot be efficiently added to the reaction zone. Further, when fine ore is blown from the bottom of the furnace through the bottom blowing tuyere, the charged fine ore may blow through together with the gas, making it impossible to obtain a sufficient residence time. Therefore, there is a limit to how much the addition efficiency can be affected by this bottom blowing. Furthermore, blowing through the bottom blowing tuyeres makes maintenance difficult.

When melting and reducing oxide ores mainly through the interfacial reaction between molten metal and slag, the furnace has a side wall with a horizontal section formed below the surface of the metal bath, and a bottom blowing tuyere is provided at the bottom of the furnace. The method is characterized in that a powdered ore in the form of a cake or slurry is pushed vertically downward into a metal bath through a charging port provided in the horizontal section.

A charging port is formed in the horizontal portion to be connected to an opening in a container containing powdered ore in the form of a cake or slurry, and pressure is applied to push the powdered ore in the form of a cake or slurry toward a metal bath. It is characterized in that a device is attached to the container.

。Therefore, in the present invention, the fine ore is charged by turning the fine ore into a cake or slurry and extruding it vertically downward from a horizontal section provided on the side wall of the furnace body into the metal bath. This cake or slurry can be easily obtained by kneading ore with an oily liquid or the like.

In the example shown in FIG. 1, the horizontal portion 14 is formed over the entire circumference of the side wall of the container portion 2. However, the side wall of the container part 2 may partially protrude inwardly, and one or more horizontal parts 14 may be formed therein.
may be formed. Further, the horizontal portion 14 is not limited to being provided exactly at right angles to the vertical side wall portion I6. Based on the behavior of cake-like or slurry-like fine ore extruded from the charging port 15, which will be described later, the angle formed by the horizontal portion 14 and the vertical side wall portion 16 is between 90 and 120.
It is good if it is within the range of degrees. When the charging port 15 is provided perpendicularly to the wall of the horizontal portion 14 having such an inclination angle, the angle of the charging port 15 with respect to the perpendicular is 0 to 30 degrees. (The direction of the ore is blown at this angle)
In this specification, it is referred to as vertically downward in a practical sense.

Then, the rear end of this container 17 is pressurized by a pressurizing device 18. As a result, the cake-like or slurry-like fine ore in the container 17 is pushed out toward the metal bath 8 . Although two bottom blowing tuyeres 19 are shown in FIG. 1, the number of bottom blowing tuyeres 19 to be installed is determined as appropriate depending on the capacity of the furnace. Further, the installation location of the bottom blowing tuyere 19 is on the inside of the perpendicular line passing through the charging port 15 when viewed in the vertical cross section shown in FIG. 00kg-Fe7min (χT, Fe). The yield and reaction rate at this time are shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, respectively. As is clear from these figures, in this example, compared to the conventional charging method, almost all of the charged fine ore was used for the reaction, and the reaction rate was also very high.

Furthermore, it can be reacted with a metal bath in the form of a reactive powder. Therefore, it has become possible to charge fine ore with a high yield and excellent reaction efficiency. Therefore, according to the present invention, melt reduction can be carried out with high productivity.
