Claims

【実用新案登録請求の範囲】装置本体に、潜像担持体と、この潜像担持体に
潜像を形成する手段と、潜像をトナーにて現像す
る手段と、記録紙を供給する給紙手段と、該給紙
手段から供給された記録紙にトナー像を転写する
転写手段と、記録紙上のトナー像を定着する定着
手段と、定着後の記録紙を装置本体外部に排出す
る排紙手段とが具備されている画像記録装置にお
いて、少なくとも転写手段は潜像担持体の上側に対向
配置され、装置本体は、給紙手段から排紙手段ま
での搬送路全域に沿つて、上部ユニツトと下部ユ
ニツトに分割され、下部ユニツトには少なくとも
潜像担持体と記録紙を搬送する搬送手段の駆動系
とを含み、上部ユニツトには少なくとも転写手段
と前記搬送手段の駆動系と対をなす従動系とを含
み、上部ユニツトの側端付近に設けられた支軸を
中心に、上部ユニツトは下部ユニツトに対して揺
動可能に装着されていることを特徴とする画像記
