PURPOSE:To maintain a clear image even upon occurrence of uneven feeding of paper, by enlarging areas at both ends of a heating portion when compared with the area of other heating portion. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal head 10, a common electrode 12 and a discrete electrode 13 are formed on a ceramic substrate 11, while a thick film heating element 14 is printed between the common electrode 12 and the discrete electrode 13 and a protection film 15 is applied entirely. Areas at both ends of the discrete electrode 12 are approximately two times the area of other electrode. When black solid printing is carried out in graphic printing, (n) row printing area is lapped over (n+1) row printing area. Consequently, even if paper is fed excessively due to uneven feeding, heating portions B at the opposite ends overlap to prevent white string type print missing. を被覆したバックロール2とから構成される記録部3と
を備え、この記録部3へ普通紙等の記録シート4と、−
面に感熱インク層が形成されたインクドナーシート5と
を重ね合わせてローラ6.7により給送し、前記サーマ
ルヘッド1によりインクドナーシート5の感熱インク層
を選択的に融解若しくは昇華させ、これを記録シート4
上に転写させて感熱記録を行う方式である。上記サーマ
ルヘッド1は、通常、絶縁性基板上に薄膜ないし厚膜技
術により一対の電橿を形成すると共に、両電橿間に発熱
抵抗体を接続して構成され、両電極間の発熱抵抗体に電
力を印加して発熱抵抗体をジュール熱により発熱させて
いる。
