Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (産業上の利用分野) 本発明は長繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂部材の溶着方法に関す
るものである。
(従来の技術) 近年ガラス繊維強化材に熱可塑性樹脂を含浸させたシー
トを加熱積層して成形し、鋼板と同様な剛性を有する成
形物を得ることが知られている。
例えば第1図の如きバンパーに用いられるバンパービー
ムをこの種樹脂で成形する。
第1図のバンパー50は樹脂製で、バンパーフェース5
1の裏面をバンパービーム52で補強し、剛性を保持せ
しめるもので、バンパービームを樹脂で成形することに
より防錆上有利であり、又軽量化の点でも有利である。
ところでバンパービーム52はアンダーカット部を有す
ること、剛性をアップさせるためには厚肉化し、従って
軽量化上改善の余地があることから二部材を溶着してボ
ックス断面とし、これによれば成形が容易で、剛性も高
いものが得られ、且つ軽量である。バンパービームは夫
々凹形状をなす二つの部材53.54を溶着一体化した
もので、部材53.54は断面の両端に屈曲して各外方
に対称的に延出した溶着接合面53a。
53 b 、54a 、54bを備え、更に接合面から
対称的に屈曲させた2279部53c、53d。
54c 、54dを備え1部材53.54を溶着〜体化
した状態でフランジ部53c、54c。
53d、54dでフラットなバンパーフェース51への
溶着接合面を構成する。
(発明が解決しようとする問題点) 上記部材53.54は剛性を高めるため例えば40〜5
0%ガラス等の長繊維を含有ごせた熱可塑性樹脂1形成
し・部材相互酸11部材と他の部材とを接着剤を用いる
ことなく、接合面を加熱溶融して溶着接合しようとした
場合、溶着部にも長繊維を含むことがら溶着部に樹脂分
が不足し、溶着接合力が不足しがちである。  ゛ 本発明は以」二の問題点を解決すべくなされたもので、
その目的とする処は、長繊維で強化された熱可塑性樹脂
の溶着を強固に確実になし得るようにしたことにある。
(問題点を解決するための手段) 以上の問題点を解決するための手段は、長繊維強化熱可
塑性樹脂部材の接合面を加熱溶融して同部材同志、或は
他の部材と溶着するようにした方法において、前記部材
の接合面に予じめ樹脂成分による多数の突起部を形成し
、該突起部を加熱溶融して相手部材に溶着するよ、うに
したことである。
(上記手段による作用) 上記手段によれば、溶着接合面には樹脂成分による突起
部があり、これが溶融することになり溶着時に接合部は
樹脂リッチとなり、溶M 41合性は向」ニする。
【実施例) 次に本発明の好適する一実施例を添付図面に従って詳述
する。
本実施例では既述のバンパービームを構成する部材5’
3.54の溶M接合の例を示し1部材53.54は軽量
で剛性に優れるポリプロピレンやポリエチレン等の熱可
塑性樹脂にガラス繊維等の長繊維を含有させて強化した
ものを用い、ががる部材を積層し、凹部材形状に成形し
たものである。
かかる部材53.54の接合面53a。
53b、54a、54bを以下の如く構成する。
以下に部材を1で示し、部材lは長繊維2を含有し、こ
れに樹脂3を含浸させたものである。部材2の接合部表
面4に多数の突起部5・・・を形成する。突起部5・・
・は長繊維2を含まない樹脂成分とし、突起部5・・・
の形状は例えば第3図の如くシボ形状とする。
この部分の縦断面図は第4図の如くで、突起部5の幅A
は長繊維と同等かこれより小さい方が良く、従って3m
m〜10mmが望ましい。そして溝6の幅Bは長繊維が
入り込んだり露出しないように0.5mm〜1.0mm
が望ましく又突起部5の高さC1即ち溝6の深さは溶着
時に必要、且つ充分の溶着層が得られるように0.5m
m〜1.Ommが々了ましい。
以」二の突起部5・・・を既述の部材53.54の接合
面53a、53b、54a、54bに形成し、接合面を
ヒータで加熱する。これにより突起部5・・・は溶融し
、溶融部は樹脂リッチな状態となり。
これを相手部材の接合面に加圧接合させることにより溶
着接合され、一体化されることとなる。溶着一体化した
得られたバンパービーム52を第5図に示した。
以上実施例では部材相互の接合面に突起部を形成したが
一方でも良く、又溶着する相手側は長繊維を含有しない
ものでも良い。
(発明の効果) 以上で明らかな如く本発明によれば、 長m維強化の熱可塑性樹脂の溶着接合面に樹脂成分の突
起部を形成したので溶着にさいし溶着部は溶融樹脂がリ
ッチとなり、長繊維を含みなから溶着接合力が向上し、
この種樹脂の溶着が強固、確実になされるとともに、以
」二を接合面に多数の突起を形成するという簡単な構成
で実現することができる。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1、長繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂部材の接合面を加熱溶融し
    て同部材同志、或は他の部材と溶着するようにした方法
    において、前記部材の接合面に予じめ樹脂成分による多
    数の突起部を形成し、該突起部を加熱溶融して相手部材
    に溶着するようにしたことを特徴とする長繊維強化熱可
    塑性樹脂部材の溶着方法。 2、前記部材の接合面に形成する突起部は幅が3mm〜
    10mm、突起部間の溝の幅が0.5mm〜1.0mm
    、突起部の突出高さが0.5mm〜1.0mmである前
    記特許請求の範囲第1項の長繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂部材
    の溶着方法。
