Conventional ratchet needles for raschel knitting machines are arranged in a row of 10 to 30 at equal intervals, and their bases are fixed together with a low-temperature melting metal such as lead to form a unit block.
Because they are long, thin, and small, rod-like, arranging a large number of them closely together with their tips aligned at equal intervals requires considerable skill, and is extremely inefficient not only when done by hand, but also when using machines.

Conventionally used latch needles are elongated and small in the shape of a rod, so it is difficult to arrange a large number of them at equal intervals with their directions aligned and their tips aligned, not only by hand but also by machines. However, it is very difficult to do so even if using a device, and when the bases of juxtaposed latch needles are placed in a mold and low-temperature molten metal is melted and poured into the mold, the spacing between the latch needles may change due to the flow of the molten metal. If the latch needle is disturbed, or if sudden and large force is applied to the latch needle for some reason while the latch knitting machine is in operation, the rod-shaped latch needle with a thin trunk and base will bend on the single block. , and in severe cases, breakage was observed.

Along an imaginary plane including the side surface of the latch needle, a branch branching downward from the latch needle trunk is provided on the bellow side of the latch needle, and the thickness of the branch branch is determined by adjusting the thickness of the latch needle trunk and base. Since it is made larger than the main body, it is possible to use the stem to align a large number of latch needles at equal intervals, and to align their tips so that they can be easily placed side by side.When pouring molten metal, the flow of molten metal Furthermore, even if a sudden and large force is applied to the latch needle on a single block, the latch needle is reinforced by the support shaft, so the latch needle will not bend or break. However, in order to manufacture a single block using the latch needle, the orientation of the latch 2 is aligned by aligning the stem 4 of the latch needle to one side, and
By aligning the positions of the shoulders 5 of the support stems 4, the positions of the tips of the latch needles are aligned, and the trunk 3, base 6, and support stem 4 of the latch needle 1 are molded as shown in FIG. A single block can be obtained by pouring low-temperature molten metal into the mold and burying the trunk 3, base 6, and support 4 in the metal 7. Usually, only the stem 4 of the latch needle 1 is buried in the metal 7, and the entire latch is left until the metal cools and solidifies, as shown in Figure 3. The needles are fixed together to form a single block as shown in FIG.

In the latch needle of this invention shown in Fig. 1, the presence of the support stem 4 makes it easy to orient each latch needle, position the tip, and arrange them side by side at equal intervals. As a result of various studies, in order to arrange the latch needles closely together and prevent the spacing of each latch needle from being disturbed when molten metal flows in,
A beautiful solution was achieved by making the thickness of the stem 4 of the latch needle 1 larger than the thickness of the latch needle trunk 3 and base 6.

That is, the latch needle 1 shown in FIG. 6 as the third embodiment has the thickness of the stem 4 as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8.
As shown in the figure, the trunk 3 and base 6 of the latch needle 1 are thicker on one side than the other, and the increase in thickness is due to the difference in thickness between the adjacent latch needles when a large number of latch needles are arranged side by side. It is appropriate that the distance be equal to the distance between the latch needles. That is, in order to manufacture a unitary block using the latch needle, the orientation of the latch 2 is aligned by aligning the stem 4 of the latch needle to one side, and the positions of the shoulders 5 of the stem 4 are aligned on the same line. By aligning the tip positions of the latch needles, and by arranging adjacent latch needles side by side with their stem sides abutting each other as shown in FIG. 9, the spacing between the latch needles is equalized, In the same manner as shown in FIG. 3, all the latch needles are secured together using low temperature melting metal to obtain a single block as shown in FIG. 9.

That is, the presence of the support stem 4 facilitates the positioning of the orientation tip of each latch needle;
The increase in the thickness of the stem 4 relative to the thickness of the trunk 3 and base 6 of the latch needle 1 acts as a factor that determines the spacing between the latch needles 1, so while the sides of the stems 4 are in contact with each other, By the simple method of arranging a large number of latch needles, it was possible to arrange them in an orderly manner, and it was also possible to prevent the spacing between the latch needles from becoming disordered when molten metal was introduced.

Furthermore, in the latch needle 1 of the fourth embodiment shown in FIGS. 10 to 12, the thickness of the stem 4 is thicker on both the left and right sides than the thickness of the trunk 3 and base 6 of the latch needle 1. The increase in thickness on the left and right sides is equal to 1/2 of the distance between the latch needles,
When a large number of the latch needles are arranged side by side with their stems in contact with each other, the latch needles can be easily and quickly arranged at equal intervals as shown in FIG. 12, as in the case of the third embodiment. You can get a single block.

Therefore, by varying the increase in thickness of the trunk relative to the trunk and base of the latch needle,
It is possible to form various single blocks with different spacing between the latch needles, and in order to strengthen the adhesion between the support stems and the molten metal, especially when thick support stems are placed in contact with each other. Since the molten metal may not flow between the support stems and the adhesion force of the metal may not be sufficient, the sides of the support stems may be roughened, striations may be provided, or small holes may be drilled to prevent molten metal from flowing between the support stems. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 13, a fixing block 8 may be brought into contact with the front side of the single block, and the fixing block 8 may be fixed to the single block with bolts 9. This also makes it possible to secure the latch needle 1 more securely.

Furthermore, the latch needles used in the third and fourth embodiments have a thickness of the stem that is different from the trunk of the latch needle;
It goes without saying that the shape shown in FIG. 5 or any other shape may be used as long as it is thicker than the base.

As described in detail above, the latch needle of this invention is provided with a branch branching downward from the latch needle trunk on the bellow side of the latch needle along an imaginary plane including the side surface of the latch needle. Since the thickness of the trunk is greater than that of the latch needle trunk and base, when manufacturing a single block by arranging a large number of the latch needles side by side at equal intervals and fixing them together using molten metal. To,
By aligning the stem branching from the trunk of the latch needle to one side, it is possible to easily align the orientation of the bellows on the latch needle, and by aligning the shoulders of the stem in a straight line, By adjusting the entrance and exit of the tip of the latch needle, and by grasping and manipulating the stem that widely diverges from the trunk of the latch needle, it has become easier to maintain a constant spacing. By increasing the thickness of the needle stem and base, spacing can be more quickly achieved by placing the stems in abutment with each other.

The latching needle of this invention is not only held by the trunk and base like conventional latching needles, but also by the stem or together with the stem and is firmly fixed to a single block, so that it can be held firmly while the lattice knitting machine is in operation. Even if a sudden and large force is applied to the latch needle for some reason, it can withstand the stress well and the latch needle will not bend or break on the single block.
