Since most of the deterioration of wood materials is caused by wood-decaying fungi, various preservative treatments have been used to protect wood materials from decay.

In addition, although chromium, copper, and arsenic-based wood preservatives have few of these drawbacks, they pose a problem of environmental pollution when disposing of the wood, and even when incinerated, these components remain in the ash and do not disappear. Therefore, its disposal remains an issue.

However, the preservative effect of wood treated with this method is far from that of conventional taleosote oil or chromium-copper-arsenic-based preservatives, and it has only been used for special purposes.

。The wood preservative composition of the present invention is a high grade organic quaternary compound as described above.
It contains one or more of the class ammonium compounds and polyalkylene glycol, and the blending ratio of the latter is required to be 0.3 parts by weight or more per 1 MM part of the former. If the blending ratio of polyalkylene glycol is less than this, the permeability of the composition into wood will decrease and the wood preservative effect will be unsatisfactory.

Then, the above-mentioned liquid drug composition was injected into it for 2 hours at a pressure of 15 kg/cd according to the packed cell method, and the mixture was air-dried for 3 weeks. The treated wood was cut out to a width of 1011 mm at the center of its length, and this was divided into four to prepare samples for the preservative efficacy test. These were measured in accordance with JIS A9302 (1976) r Preservative Efficacy Test Method for Wood Preservatives, and the average values of the preservative efficacy values obtained are shown in Table 2. However, all of these values are based on test pieces that have undergone weathering operations 10 times.

*: Control example Looking at these results, the composition of the present invention (test number 1 to
15) and the compositions of the control examples (Test Nos. 16 to 27) obtained the same amount of injection, so it is clear that the antiseptic efficacy is not due to the amount of penetration of the chemical solution.

ことがわかる。According to "JIS A9201 (1967) Performance Standards for Wood Preservatives," the efficacy value determined using Versaceae as a test fungus is 90 or higher, and the efficacy value determined using Versicolor as a test fungus is 80 or higher. This means that the higher organic quaternary ammonium compound alone does not have sufficient wood preservative effect, but by incorporating polyalkylene glycol, which also does not have wood preservative effect, the wood preservative effect is significantly increased. It can be seen that the amount increases.

る。The wood preservative compositions of the present invention not only exhibit superior wood preservative efficacy that would be unimaginable with the preservatives contained in them alone, but also have wide compatibility with a wide variety of solvents, so they can be used for various purposes. A suitable solvent can be selected accordingly. Therefore, when preservative treatment is applied to highly processed wood products such as fittings, there is a risk of dimensional deviation or deformation, and it is recommended to use a non-preservative treatment instead of an aqueous solution treatment, which requires a long period of time to re-dry before painting. Since aqueous solution treatment can be carried out, these drawbacks can be easily overcome.

There is also the advantage that they can be combined and applied at the same time.
