PURPOSE:To enable image information to be transferred to a transfer paper surface on a plain with high quality, by a method wherein, a plularity of heating elements are provided on a substrate end face of a thermal head, and a planar rubber sheet is disposed on the reverse of the transfer paper surface for transferring the image information. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 1 held between a presser plate 2 and a radiation plate 3 is provided with a heating element part 4 having a plurality of heating elements, arranged vertically to a paper surface, on a substrate end surface thereof and manually travelled in a direction of an arrow 5 with the heating element part heated in a predetermined order. により熱転写インクリボン6の一インクを局所的に溶融
させ被転写紙面7にインク粒8を熱圧着して所望のイメ
ージ情報を得ることができるが、被転写紙面7の裏面に
は板厚数ミリ程度でゴム確度が70度以下で被転写紙面
と接っする面が粗くない平板状ゴムシート9を配置しサ
ーマルヘッドlが押圧される部分を弾性変形させること
によりサーマルヘッドlと熱転写インクリボン6と被転
写紙面7とを密着させ、発熱体部4により溶融したイン
クを所定の位置に確実に転写することができる。また、
第2図の転写部分正面図に示されるように、被転写紙面
7の表面粗さが粗い場合でも、平板状ゴムシート9で凹
凸を吸収し、サーマルヘッドlを熱転写インクリボン6
を介して被転写紙面7に密着させることができ、同様に
、サーマルヘッドlの端面の発熱体部(図示せず)が幅
方向にライン状に複数配設されるためのライン型サーマ
ルヘッド1の曲や凹凸に対しても、平板状ゴムシートで
凹凸を吸収し、サーマルヘッド1を熱転写インクリボン
6を介して被転写紙面7に密着させることができる。さ
らに、第3図の熱転写部分正面図に示されるように、サ
ーマルヘッド1がハンディプリンタ本体に傾斜して取り
付けられ、サーマルヘッドlが被転写紙面7に対して片
当りするような場合でも、サーマルヘッドlを被転写紙
面7に対して押圧することにより平板上ゴムシート9を
弾性変形させ、サーマルヘッドlを熱転写インクリボン
6を介して被転写紙面7に密着させることができる。尚
、サーマルヘッドlをハンディプリンタ本体に取り付け
る場合、I81図に示される矢印5方向(横長方向)の
先端方向が被転写紙面7に対して幾分浮くようにサーマ
