There are times when a load is acting on the above-mentioned lifting shaft and times when it is not, and in response to this changing load! When selecting a servo motor as the J drive source, a motor with a motor output that can tolerate the maximum load is prepared. However, if the motor is selected as described above, the motor itself will become unnecessarily large. Therefore, a balancer is used that can offset the weight of the load by applying an external force of approximately the same magnitude as the gravity in the opposite direction to the gravity that normally acts on the load, thereby making the vertical motion approximate to horizontal motion. One type of balancer is a balance cylinder that uses air pressure or oil pressure.

It was necessary to switch the pressure between the two. However, it is difficult to predict load fluctuations, or even difficult to predict depending on the load, so the above setting method cannot handle this. Therefore, in reality, it is necessary to prepare a motor with a considerable margin in output. As a result, the motor inevitably becomes larger, making it difficult to downsize the device itself and save labor.

In the vertical positioning device, a detection unit detects a motor current or rotation speed of the servo motor, a pressure switching comparator that converts a detection signal from the detection unit into a pressure switching signal, and a switching signal from the pressure switching comparator. An operating section for adjusting the pressure of the cylinder based on the above-mentioned pressure is successively installed.

When the rotation speed increases under constant voltage, the back electromotive force increases and cancels out the voltage applied to the armature, so the flowing current decreases. On the other hand, FIG. 3 shows the rotational speed vs. current characteristic of the servo motor. Since torque is proportional to current, as the rotational speed increases, the torque also decreases.

If the load increases due to load fluctuations, the voltage is decreased and the rotational speed is lowered, thereby increasing the torque. Further, when constant rotation control is performed, if the load increases, the torque is increased by increasing the voltage and increasing the current.

It is assumed that low pressure air is supplied to the balance cylinder (9). In this state, when the weight of the load (8) increases significantly due to a disturbance or the like, a variation in the motor current of the servo motor (2) is detected by the detection unit (10). Based on this detection signal, the pressure switching comparator (11)

8), the air pressure in the balance cylinder (9) changes in two stages, but when the servo motor (9) starts and stops, the motor current momentarily increases, so such current changes However, if the pressure of the servo motor (9) is matched, switching will occur frequently, which is undesirable. Therefore, the pressure switching comparator (11) is provided with a function that cancels current changes during startup and shutdown by passing the detection signal from the detection section (10) through a large integral element, thereby preventing frequent switching. I try not to.

In this case, it is also possible to detect fluctuations in the rotation speed using the encoder (3) and switch the pressure in the balance cylinder (8) based on the fluctuations in rotation. Further, the pressure is not limited to two-stage switching, and it is also possible to continuously switch the pressure in multiple stages. On the other hand, the elevating shaft in the elevating and lowering positioning device (1) is not limited to the ball screw (5), but may be a rack and pinion or the like, and it is of course applicable to a device in which the elevating shaft itself moves up and down.

Therefore, it is no longer necessary to select a servo motor by taking load fluctuations into consideration in advance, and a servo motor having the minimum necessary motor output for the load can be selected.
