Claims (1)
相対向するように配置し、周辺をシール材でシー
ルし、内部に液晶を封入し、その液晶層よりも外
側に一対の偏光膜を配置してなる液晶表示素子に
おいて、夫々の透明基板が水平配向処理され、両
透明基板間では相互にその水平配向方向がほぼ直
交するように配置され、夫々の偏光膜の偏光軸を
夫々の基板面の液晶分子の配向方向にほぼ平行ま
たはこれにほぼ直交するように配置し、さらにこ
れらの一対の偏光膜の外側または内側に第３の偏
光膜を配置したことを特徴とする液晶表示素子。 (2) 第３の偏光膜は、その偏光膜の偏光軸を片
側の偏光膜の偏光軸から０〜９０°の範囲で配置
