Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the discharge quantity from being decreased, even if the number of copy sheets increases, and to prevent the offset of a toner by making the viscosity of a parting agent impregnated in a porous layer of the surface of a roller high than the viscosity of a parting agent held in a hollow part. CONSTITUTION:A fluororesin porous film is wound to the surface of a hollow metallic roller 10 having a through-hole 11 by heating and press-contacting, and a parting agent is impregnated. Subsequently, the parting agent is injected into the hollow part of the roller 10, a cover is placed on both ends of the roller 10 and a parting agent roller is formed. The porous layer is impregnated with a parting agent whose viscosity is higher than that of a parting agent injected into the hollow part.

That is, this release agent application roller applies a release agent to the fixing roller of a fixing device that heats and fixes a toner image by passing the copy material on which a toner image has been formed between a fixing roller and a pressure roller that are pressed against each other. This coating device forms a porous layer of fluororesin porous membrane on the surface of a hollow roller with holes penetrating the surface, holds a release agent in the hollow part of the roller, and seals both ends. This is used as the coating roller, and this is used as the mother of the fixing roller.
The release agent is applied to the fixing roller through the fluororesin porous membrane layer by the centrifugal force acting on the release agent when the release agent is brought into contact with the fixing roller in the linear direction and rotated in accordance with the rotation of the fixing roller.

上記は次のような利点がある。The above has the following advantages.

■ The amount of mold release agent applied is related to the pore diameter and film thickness of the porous fluororesin membrane and the viscosity of the mold release agent, so even with the same mold release agent and porous membrane, it is possible to easily release the mold by changing the way the membrane is wound. The amount of agent applied can be controlled. In other words, what kind of pore size does the fluororesin porous membrane have?
Films with different thicknesses and porosity can be used, just change the number of turns depending on the amount of coating.

■ The higher the rotation speed, the greater the centrifugal force acting on the mold release agent, and therefore the amount of permeation of the mold release agent from the fluororesin porous membrane increases. Therefore, the faster the roller rotates, that is, the higher the speed of the copying machine, the more release agent can be applied.

In this way, since conventional application rollers used mold release agents (oil) of the same viscosity, the initial amount of I-type agent applied was large;
This caused release agent to bleed onto the copy paper. Furthermore, when the viscosity of the release agent was increased to suppress this, the amount of release agent ejected decreased after tens of thousands of sheets were printed, causing toner offset (double copying).

A porous fluororesin membrane (12) (preferably a polytetrafluoroethylene resin porous membrane manufactured by Custom Denko Corporation, trade name Boaflon) is attached to the surface of the roller (1) processed into such a shape by heating and pressing as shown in Figure 1. Wrap it to a thickness of 0.05 to 5 m+, and after impregnating it with a mold release agent as described in the special notes of this application below, put a mold release agent (silicone oil X13) into the hollow part of the metal roller and cover both ends of the roller. Make a release agent application roller.

The above is the same as before except for the special notes mentioned above,
In particular, in the present invention, the fluororesin porous membrane layer (12) is pre-impregnated with a mold release agent having a higher viscosity than the PtI type agent to be put into the hollow part, and more preferably, the hollow part is filled with a mold release agent. It is desirable that the viscosity of the emulsifying mold release agent be equal to or lower than the viscosity A of the mold release agent impregnated into the porous layer.

(Function) The above coating roller uses a high viscosity release agent in the porous layer on the outer surface, so the initial amount of release agent applied is not large.
Eliminates the cause of release agent smear on copy paper. Furthermore, since a low-viscosity mold release agent is used in the hollow portion, the ejection amount does not decrease even if the number of copies increases, eliminating the cause of toner offset.

Set this on the fixing roller (1) as shown in Figure 4,
Continuous copying of A4 paper was performed at a copy speed of 30 minutes. At this time, the amount of release agent applied is quite stable as shown by the solid line in Figure 5, and oil stains on the initial copy paper and toner offset, which are problems even when copying 80,000 copies, do not occur. On the other hand, the amount of release agent applied using a coating roller using only silicone oil of 10,000 C.S. is as shown by the broken line in Figure 5, and it can be applied to copy paper up to about 1,000 sheets. Oil stains were visible.

(Effects of the Invention) In the present invention as described above, since the viscosity of the mold release agent impregnated into the porous layer on the roller surface is higher than that of the mold release agent inserted into the hollow part, the initial mold release agent The coating is stable, the release agent hardly bleeds, and the release agent can be supplied over a large number of copies.
