Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a moving member so as to be stably conveyed under such driving control that is excellent in accuracy, by setting up it as being adjoined to an opposite surface where a detecting device, detecting a travel speed of the moving member, and an image bearer of the moving member are confronted. CONSTITUTION:A belt speed detecting roller 23 is set up in the backside of a conveyor belt 17. For this setup, the said belt speed detecting roller 23 can be set up in an optimum position in and around a transfer charger 12b to be situated in the almost central position of three transfer chargers 12a, 12b and 12c without being prevented by other members. In consequence, speed detection of the conveyor belt 17 is yet more accurately performed. Therefore, the conveyor belt 17 is well driven and controlled so as to get rid of speed variations, so that such a good, high-grade image that is almost nothing of transfer slippage is securable in this transfer material S to be conveyed by the said conveyor belt 17.

刷装置等の画像形成装置に係り、特には作像プロセスを

像を転写材に転写する際に、該転写材を画像形成部に搬
送する搬送手段として、また画像形成部から一目画像を
転写され、該画像を更に転写材に転写する中間転写体と
してベルトが用いられろことが多い。ところが、ベルト
はI・ルク、或いは摩擦等の変化によって速度の変動が
生し易く、この速度の変動が転写ずれや画像の歪の原因
となる。まt:、本出願人により、複数の画像形成部を
並置し、転写材を搬送ベルトにて搬送しつつ、これら画
像形成部にて形成された複数の画像を該転写オイに重ね
て転写する形式のカラー画像形成装置が提案されている
(特開昭59−155871号、特開昭59−1684
7号、特開昭59−1.82139号、特開昭59−2
04069号公報参照)が、該装置においても、搬送ベ
ルトの速度の変動があると、各画像形成部から転写材に
画像を転写する際に、画像相互間の転写ず第1が発生す
