However, in conventional disc brakes of this kind, the guide pin is fixed to the caliper via the threaded member, so that each of the non-circular flange portions of the pair of guide pins is perpendicular to the direction of extension of the guide pin. Because this is done by locking to the detent locking portions located on different sides or directions with respect to the locked portion of each flange in the plane, the distance between the screwed guide pins is It was difficult to avoid that the distance would deviate slightly from the distance between the guide holes. This is between the bolt as a screwing member and the through hole of the caliper into which the bolt is inserted, or between the outer periphery of the guide pin fixed to the caliper via the screwing member and the locking member and the caliper into which the guide pin is fitted. This is because it is inevitable that some clearance will occur between the inner periphery of the through hole and the inner periphery of the through hole.

In conventional disc brakes of this type, due to the discrepancy between the distance between the guide pins and the distance between the guide holes, there is a risk that not only the sliding of the guide pins between the guide holes may be hindered, but also the guide pins may be prevented from sliding between the guide holes. There is a risk that the pin or the peripheral wall of the guide hole will wear out, and there is a risk that it will be difficult to apply the brake reliably.

In addition, when the pin head consists of a convex head, as long as the abutment position of the protrusion as a detent locking part and the pin head is in the same direction and preferably at the same distance from the center of the bolt hole of the caliper. The shape of the contact surface of the protrusion other than the contact position and the shape of the convex non-circular head of the pin may be different between the pair of protrusion and the pin head, respectively.

As described above, in the disc brake of the present invention, each of the non-circular flange portions of a pair of guide pins attached to the caliper or carrier by a threaded member is connected to the cover of each flange portion in a plane perpendicular to the direction in which the guide pins extend. The distance between the guide pins is kept the same as the distance between the guide holes because they are locked by the detent locking part that is located on the same side as the locking part and protrudes in the extension direction of the guide pin. The sliding of the guide pin in the guide hole can be performed reliably and easily, the parallel movement of the caliper with respect to the carrier can be reliably and easily performed, and the braking can be reliably applied.

The disc brake of the present invention has a pair of locking locks that are disposed on the same side of the locked portion of the non-circular flange portion of the guide pin on the other of the caliper and the carrier, and that protrude toward the axis of the guide pin. The pair of guide pins is configured to be prevented from rotating by contacting the locked portion at only one location within a plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the guide pins.

Therefore, the locked portions of the pair of guide pins are brought into contact with the corresponding locking portions, and the threaded members are respectively inserted into the pair of through holes provided in the other of the carrier and the caliper. When screwing together the guide pins respectively received in a pair of guide holes provided in one of the two, these threaded members are connected to a locking member provided on the same side of the locked part as compared to the locked part. Since each member is rotated about a single point of contact with the other member, the clearance created between the shaft of one threaded member and its corresponding through hole and the shaft of the other threaded member. The clearance created between this and the corresponding through-hole points in the same direction, and at the same time, the distance between the center of one through-hole and the center of the shaft of the corresponding threaded member is the same as that of the other. The distance between the center of the through hole and the center of the corresponding shaft portion of the threaded member is kept equal. Therefore, the distance between the centers of the shaft portions of the two screwing members and the distance between the centers of the two through holes are kept the same. Further, the distance between the centers of the shaft portions of the two screwing members and the distance between the centers of the two guide pins are kept the same,
Furthermore, the distance between the centers of the two through holes and the distance between the centers of the two guide holes are also kept the same. Therefore, the distance between the centers of the two guide pins and the distance between the centers of the two guide holes can be kept the same, and the sliding of these guide pins in the corresponding guide holes can be performed reliably and easily. This has the advantage that parallel movement relative to the carrier can be performed reliably and easily, and braking can be applied reliably.

Furthermore, in the disc brake of the present invention, since the pair of guide pins is prevented from rotating by making the locking part and the locked part contact each other only at one place, it is possible to prevent the pair of guide pins from rotating at two or more places. It also has the advantage that the probability of keeping the center-to-center distance between the two guide holes and the center-to-center distance of the two guide pins the same, that is, the probability of achieving parallel movement of the caliper with respect to the carrier, is higher than in the case where this is done.
